Kathir College of Engineering (KCE), located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, actively fosters student engagement in community service and nation-building initiatives through its Social Activities Clubs — the National Service Scheme (NSS), the Youth Red Cross (YRC) and the Unnath Bharath Abhiyan (UBA) Chapter. These clubs are pivotal in nurturing socially responsible engineers with compassion, leadership, and ethical citizenship.

Vision

 To empower students to contribute meaningfully to society, fostering a deep sense of social responsibility and civic consciousness.

Structure

The NSS unit comprises dedicated student volunteers coordinated by faculty members. Members participate in extension activities planned throughout the academic year.

YRC operates under the broader framework of the Indian Red Cross Society, with student volunteers guided by faculty coordinators.

Flagship Activities

 Blood Donation Camps often organized with NSS and other partners like Shanthi Social Service — where students donate and promote blood donation awareness on campus and off campus.

Health awareness campaigns covering topics such as hygiene, first-aid, and disease prevention.

Training sessions on basic emergency response and disaster preparedness.

Impact

 Through YRC, students become ambassadors of health consciousness, empathy, and community service, enhancing their capacity for humanitarian engagement.

UBAUnnath Bharath Abhiyan (UBA)
