Office of Controller of Examinations

The Office of the Controller of Examinations (COE) at Kathir College of Engineering plays a key role in managing all examination-related activities across various programs. Its responsibilities ensure that the examination processes are transparent, efficient, and aligned with academic regulations. Below are the main functions of the office:

  • Organization and Conduct of Internal Assessments: Managing internal assessments for all courses in all programs, ensuring fair evaluation of students.
  • End Semester Examinations (ESE): Overseeing the organization and conduct of both theory and practical exams for end-of-semester assessments.
  • Valuation of ESE Theory Scripts: Responsible for the evaluation and grading of end-semester theory answer scripts.
  • Examination-Related Meetings: Convening meetings to address and resolve examination-related issues among faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Processing and Announcing Results: Managing the processing of results, publishing them on time, and issuing grade sheets to students.
  • Recommendation for Award of Degree: Recommending students for the award of degrees in accordance with Anna University’s guidelines.
  • Development and Improvement Initiatives: Planning and executing developmental activities aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of examination processes.
  • Grievance Redressal: Addressing grievances related to examinations from administration, faculty, staff, and students in a fair and timely manner.

The COE ensures academic integrity, smooth conduct of examinations, and contributes to the overall academic environment at the college.
